Photographs on ceramic tiles


All these plaques I am showing these days come from the Cimitero Monumentale of Milan.

They often represent the only documentation we have about these soldiers, as it’s rather hard to retrieve information about them. For instance, the only additional information I have about this young Edmondo De Marchi is that he was a member of the Circolo Filologico Milanese.

Luckily, the location of these plaques (well protected from sun and rain) allows the photographes, printed on ceramic tiles, to be very well preserved, as you can see below.
