Wounded Art

My readers probably don’t know that I am very interested in protection of cultural heritage, especially during war time. That’s the reason why I am always to help my friends of the Monuments Men Foundation whenever I can (guess who translated their web site into French). Impact of war is well known for WW2, probably less for the Great War. The exhibition held in Vicenza in Gallerie d’Italia Museum had a deep meaning for me, as it was mainly about this topic. As an illustration, I’ve chosen this work of Canova, maimed during a bombing in 1917.
