POWs in Contalmaison

I’ve found this picture in the sixth volume of the 1926 edition of the La Guerra delle Nazioni; according to its legend (which sounds reasonably right), it shows German prisoners of war after British victory in Contalmaison (Somme). Like many other similar pictures of “fresh” prisoners of war, one cannot find any trace of animosity between soldiers. All of them, winners or wounded ones, go in good order to the rear trenches. Did you notice the big smile of the young German soldier in the communication trench?
