Fort L’Ecluse

It’s not at 100% a post dedicated to the Great War, as this fortress (Fort L’Ecluse) was built well before WW1. Indeed this fortress, located near Bellegarde (Ain, France) was built to protect the border with Savoy. The road from Lyons to Geneva went accross this fort (replaced by a tunnel built during 20th century). In any case, this fortress was still used during 1914-18 war as barracks for French soldiers.
