Entering Coblenz

“Coblenz”, not “Koblenz” because the first spelling was the used before 1926 in Germany. According to its caption, this picture was taken on a 14 December, when US Army occupation troops entered this town in 1918. In the background, you have probably noticed the massive shape of the “Coblenzer Hof”. Thanks to some researches, I’ve discovered in a book written by Harry Spring, An Engineer’s Diary of the Great War, this builfding was assigned to Majors and above of the 3rd Army.coblenz
