After the Armistice

The other side of the Armistice. Another crowd of civilians, but a silent one: these men are German civilians watching US Army occupation troops. These soldiers probably belong to the US Third Army, established on November 7, 1918, which entered in Germany, from the Luxembourg-German frontier, on December 1, 1918. The occupation by US forces ended on January 24, 1923, when the US Army withdrew from the occupation of the Rhine.
