Somme-Py Road

And 20 mns before the deadline (as I’ve promised a pic each day), here’s Sunday one!

We’re on September 1917 (around the 24th/26th), on the road to Somme-Py (Marne) in Souain. The road, which was completely destroyed by German Army during its retreat has just been rebuilt by US Army Engineers.

This picture was published in some French magazine during the war. I don’t have the original source, as the picture I own is a professional reprint probably done in the 90’s. I think that the precedent owner wanted to use this picture for some book to be published in Italy…
