Back from a 2-day journey in Rome! The scope was a visit to the Alma-Tadema exhibition, but I had the chance to visit the new WW1 “Teatri di Guerra” exhibition at the Vittoriano (don’t miss it if you’re in Rome) and to find a lot of material in famous Porta Portese flea market. This war loan postcard was published in 1917 by the Banca Commerciale Italiana. It has only a few colors (blue and white, the colors of the war in the mountains). The feet of the soldiers, who go to the front line, have designed a word: “SOTTOSCRIVETE” (SUBSCRIBE) in the snow.
