I promised you some time ago some additional post about the Vets’ circle located in Porta Volta (Milano), here we go! This circle is now mainly a bar, but one can find on its walls an impressive example of popular art, showing the main elements of Italian war. This painting is a triptych, with one main central element.
The left painting shows us Italian soldiers, hidden in their trench, observing the bombing of the no man’s land.
The central part, with a soldier kissing the country’s flag, reminds one famous location of the Italian front, already shown in a previous post.
And here the last part of the painting. This kind of panting, primitive and naif, reminds the ex-votos done by the soldiers during and after the war.
