Francesco Denti and the war-blinded

Francesco Denti, who was in charge of the Ospedale militare delle Orsoline in Milan during the war, created in 1917 a school for war-blinded soldiers, in order to teach them manual works in order to help them to find a job.

This school was transformed in a Foundation, with its headquarters in Villa Mirabello in Milan, a splendid house built during the 15th century. The Casa di Lavoro e Patronato per Ciechi di Guerra della Lombardia was inaugurated on June 17, 1920 and a memorial inaugurated in 1938 remember the action of prof. Denti.
